Made in just 5 minutes (really!) with just 4 ingredients, it doesn’t get any easier! Rev up your blenders, friends — let’s make some drinks!
What is in a Margarita?
A traditional margarita is a cocktail made of tequila, lime juice, and a citrus liqueur such as triple sec or cointreau. It’s usually shaken with ice, poured over ice, and served in a glass with a salty rim. YUM. You can learn more about the origin of margaritas here!
How to Make a Fresh Strawberry Margarita
Now, what about a strawberry margarita? This version has FRESH strawberries for big strawberry flavor! Then we add maple syrup for natural sweetness, lime juice for tartness + classic margarita vibes, ice for the perfect texture, and of course tequila. Time to blend!
After blending, you can taste and adjust if desired. Too sweet? More lime juice! Too tart? More maple syrup! Transfer to a glass to enjoy straight up, or serve over ice (our preference!). A salted rim and garnish of lime and strawberry make it feel extra festive!
We hope you LOVE this strawberry margarita! It’s:
Fresh
Fruity
Bright
Balanced
Perfectly sweet
& SO delicious!
This margarita is perfect for fresh strawberry season or when you’re craving a vibrant, refreshing drink on a hot day. It would also be a fun addition to a taco party and works well as a batch drink for groups! Can we get an invite?

This recipe is fantastic! I have made it several times already this summer. No modifications (except that I used lemon once when I ran out of lime – not as good!) – it’s absolutely perfect as it is. Sometimes I put in more strawberries than the recipe calls for which allows me to cut down on the maple syrup.
All in all, a real winner!

Would honey be a good substitute for the maple syrup? I have maple syrup on hand but we’re definitely a honey as sweetener household! :)
Support @ Minimalist Baker says
Hi Momo, that would work, yes!

Do you have a no alcohol version? I don’t drink but love the flavour combo.
Support @ Minimalist Baker says
You can omit the alcohol! Its still delicious without it!

Do you guys know of a good non-alcoholic substitute for the tequila? (Ritual?)
Support @ Minimalist Baker says
Hi Kaylee, that might work! We think it would also be tasty if just omitted.
Kaylee Castañeda says
Okay. Yes. I’m sure it definitely will! :) Thanks!
Vanessa says
How much orange liquor do you use?
Support @ Minimalist Baker says
Hi Vanessa! We don’t use orange liquor for this recipe. We enjoy the flavor without it!

Can you use frozen berries. Always have them on hand!
I’m going to make after I shop!
Support @ Minimalist Baker says
Hi Patricia, you can use frozen strawberries! The margarita will be more like a frozen margarita!
